Katie Saunders
Katie Saunders is a British artist permanently residing in La Seyne Sur Mer, on the Cote D’Azur in France.

She has a lifelong passion for art, music and design. She taught vocal technique and contemporary music concepts at diploma and university level in London for 10 years before re-locating to the Ardeche region in northern Provence. In this inspiring setting of rocky gorges she created her gemstone and jewellery brand ‘Oblivion Jewellery’. A ten year battle with Lyme disease forced a reluctant retirement from the physically demanding world of jewellery fabrication but with hired help she continues to design and sell gemstones online today. She has now returned full time to creating art and music and her health continues to improve year by year..
Katie now draws her inspiration from the incredible beauty of the Var department with its unspoilt coasts and forests. She also relishes the urban beauty that is to be discovered in the post-industrial landscape of her home town, La Seyne sur mer which is also famous for it's world-renowned street art. She works mainly in oils but has created artworks in pencil, charcoal and acrylics. She has also created some large sculptures in various materials.
Katie also forms part of a contemporary music ensemble ‘the southern electric’ and can be found regularly singing in and around the coast.
